A Day In Prescott Arizona
April 5, 2021

True west real adventure, this phrase is what Prescott Arizona is very proud about. This city situated in Yavapai County has a Mediterranean climate (dry summers and mild to wet winters). Given this, it is no wonder that the place offers several outdoor activities geared towards providing locals and tourists with a memorable escape.
With all honestly, I can say that Prescott, Arizona, is one of the to-go places if you are looking for a day trip filled with outdoor wonders. Here are some of the places I had the chance to visit when we had a day trip in Prescott, Arizona.
1. Lynx Lake Recreation Area
The Lynx Lake Recreation Area is a one-stop all fun place in Prescott. First, the gears you may need to enjoy the experience entirely are conveniently available in a store in the area. They have camping and fishing supplies, boat rentals, and firewood. So, there is no need for you to carry everything on your trip since they can be available in the area.
The 55-acre lake brings so much peace and serenity to anyone who sees and experiences it. Besides boating, other activities you can try include bird watching, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and visiting archeological sites. More so, when weather permits, swimming is also possible.
2. Breakfast at Lynx Lake Café
The Lynx Lake Café, also known as Winter Café, is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm from Thursday to Saturday and 8:00 to 2:00 pm on Sundays. Thus, checking the schedule first through an online or phone call is the best idea before heading to the café. So, what’s the deal in this place? Well, they offer a fusion of traditional and modern American cuisine. They offer Prime Rib on Thursday nights, Fish Fry on Friday nights, and European Cuisine on Saturday nights. I would recommend that you take the outdoor as your dining spot because it is overlooking the serene view of Lynx Lake.
3. Historic Downtown/ Courthouse Plaza
The Historic Downtown/Courthouse Plaza is dubbed as the “jewel” of Prescott, Arizona. This man-made urban forest in the historic commercial district center is indeed a go-to place for those who would like to unwind. The area serves as the favorite spot for campaigns, celebrations, concerts, commemorations, festivals, and movies. Either you are here to take photos, take a walk, or enjoy the surrounding, this place will never disappoint you.
4. Watson Lake
The Watson Lake is open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm during spring, 6:00 am to 10:00 pm during summer, and 7:00 to 6:00 pm during winter. In heading to this lake, it will only take around four miles from Prescott Downtown. Some of the activities you can do here include boating, canoeing, day picnicking, fishing, hiking, kayaking, and rock climbing.
Thus, all these activities are perfect for those who would like to dive into some action. For overnight campers (open during summer), showers are also conveniently available.
If I were you, it is time to start planning your day trip to Prescott, Arizona. Not only it offers an adventure, but it also makes you appreciate the beauty and wonders of nature. Have fun!
Nice pics, beautiful family, mafe! Stay safe out there!
