Los Angeles California Family Trip

Whenever we go on a roadtrip, my husband is the driver and I am the navigator.

Hello everyone! Just want to share with you about our road trip from Arizona to Los Angeles California. It’s my first time visiting Los Angeles California. I am very much excited on what to see and on what to do in there. It’s a long drive from Arizona. It took us for about 6 hours to arrived at Anaheim California.

Los Angeles California is known as the entertainment capital of the world. It is famous as the home of Hollywood stars.

After 4 hours of travelling we stopped at Desert Hot Spring California. It’s lovely to see all those wind turbines in the area. It is one of the sources of energy in California.

We took a nap after we arrived at “Grand Legacy at the Park”  where we booked our hotel to stay for the night. It’s just a walking distance from the Disneyland which is our second day itinerary. We just left our truck at the car park of the hotel so we don’t need to worry of parking area at Disneyland.

Afternoon Trip: Griffith Observatory

In the afternoon, we drove to the Griffith Observatory. It took us about 1 and half hours to Griffith Observatory from Anaheim California.

Griffith Observatory is a facility in Los Angeles, California, sitting on the south-facing slope of Mount Hollywood in Los Angeles’ Griffith Park.

The place was crowded since many people came over for a picnic, some go on hiking and some just hanging around with friends. But many were tourist and new to the place who were exploring Los Angeles.

This was at the side of the Griffith Observatory where you can see the view of the city. We explore their exhibits. They had public telescopes, cafe, bookstore, and more. Admission to the observatory building and grounds is free. From here you will also see the spectacular view of Los Angeles and the Hollywood sign.

You can bring your own snack or you can stop over at the “Cafe at the End of the Universe”. The cafe is located on the lower level of the observatory. They served sandwiches, soup, salads and many more. You can eat inside, outside or grab and go.

Everyone stopped and got busy with their cameras capturing the beauty of the sunset as the sun goes down. We had a wonderful time watching the sunset. It is incredibly beautiful beyond words. So romantic to see those magical changes of color in the sky.

Hollywood Boulevard

At night we went to Hollywood Boulevard just roaming around watching different sidewalk street performers and see Hollywood Walk of Fame bronze stars set in terrazzo honoring the prominent people and personalities in the entertainment industry like Johnny Depp. Then we went shopping for souvenir shirts.

Second Day: Disneyland California

Who doesn’t dream of visiting to Disneyland? Though I’m not a kid anymore but I enjoyed the rides. Going to Disneyland may be expensive but it’s all worth it. It was an incredible place.

Matterhorn Bobsleds

The mountain at our back is called Matterhorn Bobsleds. It’s a pair of intertwined steel roller coasters. It is modelled after the Matterhorn, a mountain in the Alps on the border with Switzerland and Italy.

Jungle Cruise

The following pictures was at the Jungle cruise. It was our first ride at Disneyland. It’s a riverboat tour. The boat took us through the jungle filled with different wild animals. And we encounter awesome wonders of nature.

Splash Mountain

We rode on a hollowed-out log. While we are on an adventure inside the rocky cave  we have met the animals like rabbit, bear and fox. All I did was close my eyes and screamed when the log dropped down. I’m just afraid of heights. It was fun though.

Big Thunder Railroad

Aboard into a fast speeding train and enjoy your journey in the mining mountain. Just be ready on the turns and drop.

There are more fantastic rides in Disneyland that we tried like Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones Adventure, Haunted house, buzz light year Astro blasters etc.

Third Day: Santa Monica Beach

Santa Monica Beach is one of the most famous beach in Los Angeles. We had so much fun here. They had a big car park just fronting the beach. We rented a bicycle and explore the place. The bike path passes several beach clubs and the highlights there is that it is free-to-the-public. Who doesn’t want that right?

Tips: don’t ever forget to bring water and snacks. I always bring with me a small bag with water and snacks on it. Keep yourself hydrated. That’s all for our wonderful roadtrip to Los Angeles.

Thanks for reading!
